It is our responsibility as faculty members at Xavier to help you develop the necessary skills to earn your degree. It is our responsibility to certify your degree when you have developed the necessary skills. It is our responsibility to uphold the integrity of this degree program by not issuing a degree if you do not develop these skills.
It is your responsibility as a student is to develop the skills necessary to earn your degree. This is not easy but your hard work will make your degree a significant accomplishment. Please remember that if you choose not to work you are choosing not to earn a degree.
Your degree from Xavier, and indeed any undergraduate degree, automatically implies a level of achievement. To give you a degree for substandard work lessens not only your degree, but the degree of your peers and the degrees of all university and college graduates, including the degrees of the faculty here at Xavier. We have a duty and the right to uphold the integrity of our own degrees.
The Xavier education is very personalized and we are happy to spend a great deal of time with each student. Please respect our effort and time spent with you by spending significant effort and time working on your own as well.
